Interest Rate Environment, Market Performance, and Operational Efficiency Among Chief Concerns for Insurance Investment and Accounting Professionals
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – IASA 2014 Annual Educational Conference and Business Show – June 9, 2014 — Clearwater Analytics, a leading provider of integrated, web-based investment accounting and reporting solutions, has announced that it will be presenting key findings of its landmark “Insurance Investment Peer Benchmark Survey” at the IASA 2014 Chief Investment Officer Roundtable Series on Monday, June 9.
The presentation will reveal the results of the survey, which polled insurance financial and investment executives on a range of investment-related topics, including new asset class strategies, reporting processes, operational challenges, data accuracy, and more. Attendees will be presented with detailed analysis from the survey and will learn about key themes, trends, and best practices.
Key findings of the 2014 Insurance Peer Benchmark Survey, which generated nearly 400 responses from insurers across all segments (health, P&C, life, RRG, title, fraternal, multi-line), include the following:
- Over 42% of insurers rank the “Interest Rate Environment,” followed by “Market Performance” (28%), “Operational Efficiency” (19%), and “Credit Risk and Compliance” (11%) as their biggest investment-related concerns in 2014 and beyond
- 53% of respondents claimed they analyze portfolio performance on a monthly basis, while only 15% analyze it daily or weekly
- 60% of respondents think that interest rates will be increasing over the next one to three years
“The benchmark survey presentation at the CIO Roundtable Series will provide investment executives with valuable insight into how their peers are investing, how they are managing and accounting for their portfolios, and what types of processes and strategies are most effective for investment accounting and regulatory reporting,” said Tyler Haws, Director of Business Development and Sales at Clearwater. “Clearwater is more than just a powerful investment accounting and reporting solution.
