Clearwater Analytics Experts Team Up With Industry Professionals at IASA Annual Conference

Clearwater to Demonstrate Thought Leadership and Industry Knowledge at IASA 2013

WASHINGTON, D.C. – IASA 2013 Annual Conference – June 2, 2013 — Clearwater Analytics, the fastest-growing, established provider of web-based investment accounting and reporting solutions for insurance companies, will be attending the 2013 IASA Annual Conference in Washington D.C., June 2 through June 5. Three presentations will be given during the conference by experts from Clearwater, alongside industry co-presenters.

“Clearwater is more than just a powerful investment accounting solution. We’re also thought leaders. For this year’s show, we’ve paired several of our investment accounting experts with insurance executives and professionals to share their thoughts on topics that we believe will resonate with insurers,” said Tyler Haws, Director of Business Development and Sales at Clearwater. “We invite you to drop in on any of the three presentations to learn from their experience.”

The first presentation, “How Accounting is Impacting CIOs Today,” will be given on Monday, June 3, from 2:15-2:45 p.m. Richard Robinson, CFO and Senior Vice President at Savings Bank Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts will share his thoughts and opinions with his CIO peers about how accounting limitations can strain an insurer’s ability to invest in new or different investment types, or limit their investment playbook in the face of continual regulatory change. Clearwater’s Scott Erickson, Director of Product Management, will join Richard in this Executive Education Roundtable Series, to discuss how executive management and portfolio managers at insurance companies can unshackle accounting processes within their own organizations to react to ever-changing regulations.

The second presentation, “Understanding the Complexities of Multiple Accounting Bases for Investments,” will be given on Tuesday, June 4, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Brian Ollech, President of the Board of Directors for the Chicagoland IASA chapter and Senior VP & Global Controller at the Warranty Group, the largest single-source provider of service contracts, will share his experiences leading a global treasury team that deals regularly with the day-to-day challenges of multi-basis accounting in domestic and international environments. He will be joined by Clearwater’s Statutory Accounting Policy Manager, Rachel Evans. Together, the two will discuss how insurers can leverage technology and analytics to tackle the challenges of complex, multi-basis accounting.

The final presentation, “Recent Investment Accounting and Reporting Updates,” will be given on Tuesday, June 4, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Tip Tipton, an Accounting Policy Analyst at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, a member-owned Fortune 500 fraternal benefit society, and Clearwater’s Rachel Evans, will provide down-to-earth insight into the big picture investment changes that affect insurers in the face of changing regulatory guidance. Both Tip and Rachel regularly attend industry meetings (NAIC, NASVA, IASA, etc.) and track statutory accounting from a regulatory perspective.

In addition to these presentations, Clearwater will be participating in the Investment Management Systems Vendor Connect Tour on Monday, June 3, from 9:50-10:50 a.m., and the Accounting, Audit and Consulting Systems Vendor Connect Tour on Monday, June 3, from 11:00-12:00 p.m. Members of the Clearwater team will also be at booth #917 to give live demos and provide further information about products and services.

Finally, Clearwater will also host an exclusive yacht reception on Monday, June 3, from 5:30-8:30 p.m., on the Potomac River. Hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served and the yacht will leave directly from the dock at the Gaylord National.
